Deputy director meets with SPD delegation

On the morning of July 11, Xie Dong, deputy director of Shanghai Financial Service Office, met with a delegation of Germany's Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD) led by deputy party leader Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel, and introduced Shanghai’s economic and social development as well as the latest development of Shanghai international financial  construction.

Schäfer-Gümbel said he was pleasure to build connect with the Shanghai Financial Service Office. As the leader of the party in the German state of Hesse, one of the economic hubs of German and the home of financial  Frankfurt, Schäfer-Gümbel said he hoped to further promote the financial cooperation between Shanghai and Frankfurt through mechanisms such as forums.

Xie said Shanghai Financial Service Office put huge emphasis on financial communications with German, especially Hesse. As Shanghai is striving to become a financial , the city is willing to step up communication and explore cooperation with financial s such as Frankfurt in order to learn from development experiences.

They also changed opinions on financial supervision and capital market development in the two cities.
