Lujiazui Forum, a professional forum in the finance industry, was established in Shanghai in December 2007. Under the auspices of the Shanghai Municipal Government, forum is co-sponsored by the People’s Bank of China, China Banking Regulatory Commission, China Securities Regulatory Commission, and China Insurance Regulatory Commission. The first session of the Lujiazui Forum was held in June 2008, and the Forum has been held annually, with a specific theme each time. Lujiazui Forum has evolved into a high-level, global dialogue platform. Senior leaders of governments and regulators, global financial leaders and well-known experts and scholars from across the world convene at the forum to discuss major financial issues. As such, the forum has made an important contribution to the implementation of the national strategy of transforming Shanghai into an international financial center and to raising Shanghai’s profile as a significant voice in the global dialogue on finance industry issues.
